Before your defense, there are two key steps you must complete to stay on track with the manuscript clearance process.
1. Create a Manuscript Clearance Portal Account
Go to the Manuscript Clearance Portal and create an account.
Submit the Defense Announcement Form as soon as your defense date is confirmed with your committee. You have until 48 hours before the defense to update this form.
For last-minute edits or help, contact the Manuscript Clearance Team directly as soon as you can.
2. Create a ProQuest ETD Account & Submit Your Initial Manuscript
Set up an account at ProQuest ETD.
Upload your initial manuscript for pre-defense review at least two weeks prior to your defense date, or by the university’s pre-defense deadline, whichever comes first.
Failure to complete either step may delay your manuscript clearance and graduation timeline.
